Meet Kesmeel, Your Postpartum Doula & Newborn Care Specialist
Postpartum Doula & Newborn Care Specialist
Hi - I’m Kesmeel Davis, a certified postpartum doula and founder of Maternal Transitions. My work is rooted in care, presence, and the deep belief that families deserve to be supported—not just during birth, but in the tender weeks and months that follow.
My journey into postpartum work grew from witnessing how overlooked this season can be. Families are celebrated during pregnancy and delivery… and then suddenly expected to recover, learn a newborn, and care for themselves— often with very little support. I saw parents trying to hold everything together while running on empty, and I knew that postpartum care needed to different: slower, gentler, more nourishing, and rooted in real community care.
That calling led me to this work.
Over the years , I’ve supported families both day and night through the early postpartum period — helping parents rest, prepare nourishing meals to support recovery, provide extensive breastfeeding and feeding guidance, and care for newborns so caregivers can breathe, heal, and feel human again. I’ve held space through tears, celebrated quite milestones, and walked beside parents as they found their rhythm and confidence.
My approach is calm, practical, and deeply respectful of each family’s values, culture, and lived experience. I see postpartum not as something to “get through,” but as a profound transition— one that deserves compassionate support, emotional grounding, and the kind of care that reminds families they do not have do it alone.
Maternal Transitions was created from that belief: that every parent deserves to feel seen, supported, and cared for as they step into this new chapter.
Oh! I also make a great bone broth.
Nurture. Empower. Support
